We’ve won another award for our Apprenticeship programme!

Global - Apprentices Nov 2017

Following being ‘Highly Commended’ in the London National Apprenticeship Awards for Large Newcomer of the Year 2017, we’re thrilled to announce that Global has been awarded a ‘Special Recognition’ for the ‘Best Apprenticeship Scheme’ category in TfL’s Supplier Awards. For this category, we were up against the likes of Taylor Woodrow, Balfour Beatty, Crossrail, Laing O’Rourke, Bombardier and Siemens.

Karen Rumble, People and Culture Director at Global, said:
“I’m very proud of our apprenticeship programme; we deliberately and consciously exceeded our agreed number of apprentices because we recognise their value, creativity and drive. I’m so thrilled that we’ve been specially recognised in the TfL Supplier ‘Best Apprenticeship Scheme’ category. It further demonstrates just how brilliant our programme is and will encourage us to increase our apprenticeship workforce even more through working closely with local schools, councils, charities and social enterprises.”

We developed our SLNT Apprenticeship programme after being selected as the media partner for the TfL rail estate in March 2016. Within the space of 12 months the programme has grown from 2 to 14 apprentices, across various departments on different accredited frameworks and standards, ranging from level 2 to 5. Our youngest apprentice is just 18 and the oldest is 56 years old. The SLNT programme includes: Apprenticeships, Work Experience, Schools Engagement and E&D/D&I Skills.

Global is also a finalist in the ‘Employee of the Year Award‘ category for the Camden Business Awards, for our Apprenticeships and Schools Engagement programmes. The ceremony is on 30th November… fingers crossed!

Following our work with Creative Pioneers London and Arch, we are soon to launch a new strand to our Apprenticeship programme. This could double the size of the programme, leading to over 6% of our entire workforce being on an Apprenticeship scheme

Our Apprenticeship programme has been a game-changing experience for us; from how we work to how we recruit talent into the business. Find out what Najima Khatun, our HR Coordinator (SLNT), thinks about the programme here.
